I'm geting my 14 year old son into DXing. He wants something small and cheap. Has onyone played with the Grundig Mini400? Looking especially for MW reception reviews. Thanks!

I have a Mini 300, which is similar. It's a pretty decent radio for shortwave, and reasonable at medium wave. FM reception is good but sound quality is terrible (quite a lot of distortion). I bought it on a whim because of the low $30 Cdn price, but it's my take-everywhere radio because of its solid ability on shortwave. The analog tuning is quite convenient for channel surfing.
