Well, I couldn't resist the Siren song of the long waves offered by the DX-160, so I picked it up and have been DXing my heart out for several days with a jury rigged sky hook. It is a blast to play with! I have the room for a nice antenna installation here, so that is now in the works.
I have heard only two signals on long wave, and both were code.
I can't wait to see what it will do with a nice looooong antenna!:woohoo:

Pick up more noise, and overload if need be? :P

This set will apparently also take balanced antennas after removing the A2-Gnd connection, so I'd try a medium length dipole fed with twin lead. (Input impedance varies between about 200 ohms and 2 kOhms depending on RF gain setting.) Acquaint yourself with common-mode chokes, too.
